The Beagle’s History

What About Beagadors?

The Beagador, a mix of the Beagle and the Lab, usually has the compact build of the Beagle, and they have a relatively narrow and long muzzle. Their ears are iconic of the Beagle, as they dangle around the side of the face. The Beagle has a relatively smooth and dense fur coat, and their colors usually vary from red, orange, yellow, chocolate, white, black, and yellow.

Behavioral Traits

The Beagador is considered by many to be a high energy dog, and for good reason; it loves to run around quite a bit. The high energy comes from the fact that both of its parents, the Lab and the Beagle, love running about. They both need at least a bit of exercise during the course of the day, and you need to provide that at all costs.

Labs love to chew, and so does the Beagador. In general, the best way to get rid of its chewing habits is to make sure that you provide it with plenty of exercise. These dogs usually turn destructive when they don’t get enough exercise, and if you are able to make it run around for a bit, you won’t have to worry about them eating through your furniture.

Training Needs

You need to understand that this breed is hyperactive, and as a result of that, its training needs constantly differ. There are a couple of things that will be required of you: time and effort. You need to make sure that you take out an appropriate amount of time from your day to spend with your dog in its early stages. This animal needs proper attention.

Furthermore, you need to understand that the dog requires at least 40 minutes of vigorous exercise at least once day. Any less, and you are going to have a serious problem on your hands. The dog is going to start running around the house, and will often break delicate items without any remorse.

If you bring the dog home and realize that it is still quite hyper, consider it a clear sign that the animal is in need of more exercise. Failure to provide it will only result in more problems for you in the long run. You need to make sure that your dog gets to run around and socialize, otherwise it’s going to turn into a destructive animal in the future.

Feeding

If given the chance, your Beagador can easily continue munching on its food throughout the course of the day. This primarily has to do with the fact that these animals tend to burn off a lot of calories, so hunger is something that they feel throughout the course of the day.

However, obesity and other gastrointestinal problems are something that you will have to deal with if you feed it more than necessary. You need to introduce dry kibble into its daily food routine, and depending upon its age and its lifestyle, you need to be a bit selective with the food that you feed it.

It’s recommended that you give the dog a mixture of dry and wet food. More importantly, you need to take its teeth cleaning quite seriously, as they usually suffer from a series of teeth-related problems.

Apart from this, there’s not a lot that you need to worry about. The dog needs moderate amounts of grooming, as the animal does not shed all the time. Its infrequent shedding habits mean that you won’t have to worry about constantly getting the fur off of your furniture.
